Holmes with a View

We stayed in room four. We had been there numerous times before however it had been a few years. I was shocked at how the place appeared worn and apparently was not under the same ownership. There were little gnats and flies all over the place. There was what appeared to be mold stains on the wooden floor in the bedroom. There were stains on the ceiling, the couch and one of the chairs were so worn that you felt like you were on the floor. While we were watching television, a bookshelf fell. As you know, this is a remote area and once we had checked in, there really was not a way to check out and get a refund. I did try through our VRBO/EVOLVE to get a refund but to no avail. If you stay here, please make sure that you have contacted someone and that these issues have been resolved. The view however, is still just as idyllic as it ever was, but the room was not.

This place was amazing and reasonable. The previous owners were amazing. It recently sold and now added to the prices are high cleaning fees and a stricter cancellation policy and penalties. Not sure I will be back because of these pricechanges.

Holmes with a View bed & breakfast was a peaceful and wonderful get away from the hustle and bustle of life! Very quiet, peaceful and tranquil. Beautiful greenery and views of the rolling Amish countryside from the wrap around deck. The amenities and lodging are very nice. I plan to return for another stay!
