Motel 6 Coos Bay

Let me start with, I knew this was a value motel. Not too expect things like shampoo, a microwave, or a fridge. Having stayed there many times years ago, I knew it would be simple but clean. I was very wrong. Good: Check in was fast and easy. They don't charge for pets! They were able to accommodate my request for the ground floor. The bed was clean. Good location. Bad: There was a musty odor that hit you when you opened the door. Left it open for 10-15 min before spaying the curtain and bed with the bathroom deodorizer I brought. The floor, walls, doors, and dresser were filthy. Garbage behind the TV and dresser. Very slow draining bathtub. Hair on the rack that held the towels. The TV was going out. There were permanent lines running down it and it was darker on one side. Expected a little noise, but it was extremely noisy. Lots of door slamming. When I tried to mention the dirty floors to the front desk upon check out but she wasn't interested in what I had to say. Definitely will not stay there ever again. Definitely recommend paying $20-30 more to stay somewhere else.

This was a ghetto nightmare ! From check in to check out Motel 6 in Coos Bay is all lip service with no actual service! We were ( my girlfriend and I) treated to a dusty uncleaned room with half of the amenities in the room either not working properly or being dirty and not wanting to use them! Under the sink was a packed ( literally ) to the very max with garbage from previous occupants! It looked like a party of trash that the staff was saving for later( video to see)! Dust balls, dog bones, various shreds of ripped and torn matress hanging down, dead bugs etc. under the beds! I guess they only clean what you could see at a glance and use the out of sight out of mind cleaning policy. Filthy microwave( splatering of foods and liquids) ,dirty windows, dirty jaccuzzi, fireplace did not work properly along with mouse droppings that were in plainview when you opened the cuboard ! We called about the mess soon after check in and discovery and received no actions to remedy the situation only a scripted apology. After a sleepless night due scrathing and scurrying noises(mice we think) in the morning i took ALL OF THE GARBAGE THAT WAS UNDERNEATH THE SINK to the garbage and WE cleaned the room for the next guests! We didn't have to do it, but this day was new years eve and we did not want the next guests to experience what we had experienced on the special night that is new years eve. We have pictures and video of everything i described and showed the so called “manager” Casey after check out. Casey was desheveled and smelled of BO and was very rude to a visiting couple that just did them a huge solid and would only offer us a 25% refund for the nights stay that we paid in cash. We were going to try to get another room to stay another night and asked if we could just get a different room and have it compt for our troubles and was told that “Corporate policy “ DID NOT ALLOW MANAGERS TO COMP ROOMS AT ALL ! Her (Casey) tone became became condescending and stern just repeating the same thing , treating US as if we were trying to scam or con them! Of course this was after we showed her(Casey) the pics and videos clearly showing that we were telling the truth !! We then proceeded to look up Motel 6 Coorperate Policies on the internet because we couldn't believe “Managers” couldnt comp a room! It was very easy to look up and the policy clearly stated that “managers are allowed to comp any rooms to people that had received bad services , unsanitary conditions, or did not meet policy standards etc.” . We showed this to Casey and she became hostile and infuriated and told us to leave and that we were never allowed back on the property! So i asked about the 25% refund on our night stay and she(Casey) said they did not have the cash to give us our 25% (room cost 90$)refund at that time. So i said i would wait until they got the cash and she kicked us out , threatened us with the cops and trespassing charges and said we were banned from the property!!!! WHAT ?!?! All of this treatment for guests doing them the favor of taking out THEIR garbage and cleaning THEIR room that Casey and the staff did not do?! UNBELIEVABLY RUDE AND GHETTO ! Would not reccommend this place to anyone ! We are nice, normal people who were not trying to scam or get people fired or cause problems. We simply tried to bring a problem into the light and peacefully, quietly try to receive some compensation for bad service, unsanitary conditions and cleaning up the garbage filled room that was unsatisfactory. By the way, this story is not done…… we still have not received the 25% refund and not being allowed back on the Motel 6 property , i dont think that i will get that money back. I will never do anything to help a business/Cooperation save its reputation or customers again! You should not either! There is NO justice for consumers when Coorperations/Owners have terrible Managers and employees that make your time and money worthless! YOU WILL HERE FROM ME AGAIN MOTEL 6 (Coos Bay) as well as MOTEL 6 COOPERATE HEADQUARTERS ! THE NEXT TIME IT WILL BE FROM MY LAWYER ! To be continued……

This is a fine stay for what you pay for. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are warm, clean and just dandy. We sadly had issues with our neighbour's and their ridic engine but no reason to drop a star here.
