Sailor Jack Oceanfront Motel

We wanted to find a last minute ( a couple of weeks in advance) place on the coast for Labor Day weekend. I am super picky about where I stay, and some of the reviews for Sailor Jacks made me nervous. Our big requirements were must be pet friendly and must have a balcony so that I could listen to the waves while we slept. This place is great and we will be back! The staff were so friendly. Everyone at the hotel knew my dog's name and he got to meet so many new friends. The patio out back was great and in the evenings and the mornings they light the gas fire pits. There was always room for everyone. There was enough parking for everyone and the stairways are well lit. The ocean is a small flight of stairs away right off the back patio. Our room was clean and welcoming. The bidet was a great addition. The balcony is only big enough to stand on if you are not on the first floor. But with the fire pits and welcoming back patio area, who wants to sit on the balcony anyway? We did not opt for a lower floor because we wanted to keep the door opened at night. There are delicious pastries and coffee in the office in the morning. There is also a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave in our room. Did I mention the staff? They were so friendly and helpful. They genuinely care about the comfort of the guests. We will miss you Sailor Jacks.

This was the worst experience we've ever had! We booked the king jacuzzi room two weeks in advance. We received emails days in advance confirming and making sure we would keep our reservation in which we did. We received a call from the manager Melinda the day before we were to check in saying the rooms were overbooked and that the only thing they could offer us was a queen room with a balcony. I told her this was unacceptable. She told be basically to go pound sand. We had tickets purchased to see Rodney Carrington at Chinook winds. Now we are without a place to stay. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

Location is excellent! Front staff was friendly. Parking very tight! Stairs a problem for seniors. Room was dirty. Room is loud! Shower impossible to turn on without getting an ice cold blast! Shower floor is like an ice rink! VERY DANGEROUS!!! Pull out bed is the worst ever experienced. Very disappointed!!
