Inn at Nye Beach

Hotel is extremely understaffed. Got to Newport at 3:30pm. Only one clerk was working with several people waiting in line. Our room was not ready, but others ahead of us were given rooms (probably those more expensive) with an ocean view. Told to come back in an hour. Clerk was clueless and took no accountability. When we returned at 4:30pm, the line was even longer, same one clerk working who seemed frustrated and overwhelmed. Parking is another nightmare. There are parking spaces covered and uncovered, but the spaces are tiny. One or two huge SUV's take up multiple spaces. Even that spaces were marked "compact". These vehicles should be forced to park on the street. The hot tub was nice, but not enough to offset the other frustrations of the hotel and staff.

Great coastal location, right on the beach. Staff was very helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Highly recommend.

The room was a good size and in good condition. However, the overall service made this a poor experience. At the rush of check in there was only one staff person so we waited almost 30 minutes. We chose the voucher for the cafe but each morning we got a knock on the door trying to deliver a breakfast. We asked for housekeeping one time and found simply a pile of new towels. The coffee and creamer were not refreshed and the French press still had the old grounds in it. We also did not get clean utensils. The overall organization seemed quite haphazard. Would not recommend staying here unless they improve the service.
