The Inn at Ragged Edge

Convenient to Harrisburg & Gettysburg, a beautiful early 1900’s home lovingly maintained. Rooms are immaculate with private baths, wifi, & beautiful grounds. Rachel is a friendly, helpful host & prepares a fresh, healthy, hearty breakfast. This would be an elegant, memorable setting for a wedding or special reception.

We spent only one night at this beautiful and historic inn while attending a car show in Carlisle. It was a delightful experience. We were welcomed at the door by the on property owners, Rachel and Simon. The woodwork is beautiful and in perfect condition, which compliments the open hallways, staircases, and spacious community rooms. The front room holds a beautiful Steinway piano that we were welcomed to play. Alas that is not one of our talents. We stayed in “The Nest” room which overlooks a beautiful stream that looks like it should have trout. There are several wooded acres with mowed walking trails. The room was large with a modern ensuite bathroom. We had an early start the next morning so we could not take advantage of the family style breakfast they offered to all the guest in one sitting. However, Rachel laid out rolls, yogurt parfaits and excellent coffee for us. Don’t let the very modest pricing make you hesitant in what you will experience. It’s a real gem!

What a wonderful experience. We had to reschedule our original stay to the following weekend and Barb was so accommodating. Then our stay was threatened by a pending blizzard and again, Barb was understanding if we needed to cut our stay short. We talked with her and Ken, got to know each other, and felt right at home. Brad gave outstanding recommendations of places to eat and visit during our time. The house is gorgeous, the hosts are friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast and coffee are outstanding. I highly recommend the Hearthside room where we relaxed and fell asleep to a wood burning fireplace.
