DAYS INN DUNMORE SCRANTON

I wanted to say that I found a regular place to stay when in the area. With 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, I am picky but also reasonable as I know that things happen. I specifically requested to ensure the room cleanliness was checked prior to my arrival. There was a stain on the duvet and a long hair on the sheets. The side of the microwave/tv cabinet and wall had a drink splashed all over it, like a previous guest tossed their non-empty cup in the trash can. The bathroom had hairs in the corner, a mildewy shower curtain and the body wash & conditioner bottles in the shower were completely empty. The bed was very comfortable and the staff we interacted with were nice, however couldn't recommend a breakfast restaurant in the area. The most disappointing part was that I left my pajamas hanging on the hook behind the bathroom door. I realized it when I got home, called the same day as check out and the housekeeping staff claimed they "didn't find them". I know they were left, so they either discarded them or someone took them. I find it odd that they wouldn't keep lost and found items for a period of time before discarding. My mistake for leaving a item behind, so I will incur the cost of replacing. We may try this one again, but may pay a little more at a different location for better service.

Breakfast was lacking. Powdered eggs or even rubbery bacon would have been an improvement. Everything else was fine, I mostly just slept and then left.

The hotel was terrible. We went for my daughter's softball tournament and the stench in the rooms and all over the hotel was terrible. The hotel is very old and not clean. I would not stay again!
