Clarion Hotel and Conference Center

We picked this hotel because of its location close to peninsula. Great location, quiet where we were in hall far from pool. Pool looked nice but looked like rooms in that location would be noisy til 10 when pool closed. Worked for what we needed.

I stayed here for the Erie Marathon, selected because of its proximity to the race. I was nervous per the reviews I found. But upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is an older building with old carpet and yes, the pool was closed. But my bed was clean and comfortable, bathroom was clean, room had mini fridge and microwave. Would recommend.

In a rush to get a room due to a unforeseen circumstances booked a room for our family. It appears to be a great hotel at one time. The pool was closed and had been for a long time. I actually would have booked at another location if I knew that. The vending machines on each floor didn't work, or didn't work with credit card or cash. Our light was broken we had to switch rooms no big deal, but they didn't have staff to do a lightbulb change. Room was clean, sort of, could have been better. The woman at front desk was kind and sweet but inexperienced. Perhaps if they can get staff and the pool open it would be worth the price, but it its certainly not worth the price as is.
