Rodeway Inn (New Cumberland)

It is the type of place that immediately leads you to wonder how many people have actually died there. It is the type of place that, when you hear what sounds like muted gunshot in an adjacent room you become quietly optimistic.

I bought a room/dinner/show package and traveled 200 miles to see the headliner in their attached comedy club. The room had a floor lamp and a very dim wall sconce ONLY. Couldn't use the luggage rack as it was too dark to see. The small double bed had only one nightstand with NOTHING on it - no clock, no phone, no reading lamp. The room was huge but had nothing in it but a small dresser and a very small table with two hard chairs. There was no carpeting in the room. The bathroom had a pedestal sink and no amenities. No tissues. The small tv was a wall-mount and had 12 channels, 3 were Spanish speaking, 1 was religious, and there was no guide or channel lineup. There was no coffee in the lobby and no breakfast was offered at all. The front desk advised that if we wanted any ice we would need to go to the in-house bar and get it as there was no ice machine. There were signs of remodeling in the halls but we were told that the room has already been upgraded. This package included a voucher for a specific amount in their attached restaurant, Boomerang Bar and Grill. I will write a separate review for that. There are several motels within walking distance.

Arrived in New Cumberland pa with a reservation at the Motel 6. At check in found out that a mistake was made and they had no room. (will NEVER stay at a Motel 6 again). Happen to stumble on this property driving around after leaving motel 6. Turned out, motel 6 did me a huge favor. The price was only a couple of dollars more and it was a much nicer room. Much cleaner than motel 6 and had an incredible awesome sports bar that served great food. The Harrisburg comedy zone is located on the property and there was also outdoor patio entertainment. If you are looking for a fun place where you can relax , eat , drink and have a great time...THIS IS THE PLACE!!!! GREAT PEOPLE AND GREAT PLACE TO STAY.
