My husband and I frequently stay at Hampton Inn hotels since they are pretty much consistent wherever we are. This one was the exception! Do yourself a favor, and pass this one by! It was by far the worst one we have ever stayed at. Before I go into detail about why, I will tell you that I tried repeatedly to speak with the manager about the issues we had but the front desk staff did not allow us to. They kept making excuses when we were there..."He is not here."..."He will be in later" "He does not have a business card with contact information because he is new." when I asked about how I could reach him, I was told "Just call the hotel later" When I did call the hotel later, I was told he was not available. I left my phone number for him to call me and I never got a call back.
We stayed one night there after a very long day of driving, and the overall condition of the hotel was not good. Rugs and furniture were stained, paint on the doors in our room was chipped and rusty, the under mount sink in the bathroom had mold around the top, the toilet paper holder was broken and was coming off the wall. There was a light-filtering shade on the window with a valance over it. Around 9:00 pm, we were getting ready for bed and I went to lower the black out curtain......and I discovered that there was no curtain at all! We had a lot of stuff we had to keep in our room and had already changed for bed (and we were exhausted!) so I knew we would not be able to change to a different room. I called the front desk anyway to let them know that there was no curtain on the window. That person knew all about it and said that new curtains were on order but had not arrived yet! We should have been notified of this when we checked in so that we could have decided whether or not we would accept that room, but no one mentioned it to us! As it turned out, when we turned out the room lights, there was an outside light shining into the room all night. I tried to sleep with a pillow over my head but did not sleep well because of it. In the morning we went for the breakfast served there. It was terrible. It was around 8:00 am so there should have been a well stocked supply of food. There was hardly anything at all. There were 2 boiled eggs left and a little bit of gloppy gravy something (which we did not try to eat). There was a waffle station and some oatmeal but that was about it. No protein and all carbs.
I would have liked to have a discount on the room or my money back but the manager there (if there even is one) is totally unconcerned about the quality of our stay there and does not have the decency to speak with us. The funny thing is that we got a standard email that was sent to us later that day we checked out that said to call them if we had any concerns about our stay. I certainly called but they obviously could care less. Very disappointed with this hotel and we will look for a different chain from now on.
