Best Western York Inn

DO NOT waste your money or energy to go here! HORRIBLE customer service from morning front desk woman and VERY DIRTY, smelly, and uncomfortable rooms. Hair and stains in the sheets plus bodily fluids and layers of dust on the bed skirt of the world’s most uncomfortable mattress. We usually go tent camping in Maine but my wife is 8 months pregnant so we sprung for a hotel room to help her be comfortable. After they switched us to a new room following the report of dirty sheets, we stayed the first of a 3 night reservation. My pregnant wife could not get comfortable and neither of us slept. We then addressed the issue with the woman at the front desk to ask our options. She offered us 2000 points to cancel our remaining 2 nights (a $12 equivalent) or the option to check another room. The stress of this experience sent my wife into contractions and we had to leave. After getting her checked out and learning it was Braxton Hicks, the York Best Western still refused the cancellation. If you want to be disrespected and have your family’s health disregarded following a repulsively nauseating and sleepless night stay, then this place is for you!

Lovely rooms with oversized bathrooms, very comfortable for 2 getting ready. Beds and pillows were super comfortable.

A friend and I stayed in separate rooms at the Best Western in York, Maine due to the unexpected death of my son and the need to take care of his affairs in the area. The first night I was assigned a room with a noisy malfunctioning HVAC unit. The next morning the maintenance person assessed the unit as needing repair or replacement and my room was changed. The second room had an ant issue. Several large ants were crawling around in the room. We thought we would need to stay an extra night and requested to do so the morning of the extra day. It was close to 11am. We were not reminded of an 11am deadline to cancel. That afternoon I became ill and feverish and we then had to leave so that I could get home as soon as possible to be near my doctor. The hotel refused to give us credit for that night, even given the circumstances of our visit and my getting sick. Their policy states that we must cancel by 11am. We were each charged for the additional night. They stated that we did not provide notification by 11am regardless of the circumstances. This has been very upsetting. Also, by 8:30am, one very dry pancake was left in the server and no further food was added. Breakfast is supposed to be served until 10am. I have stayed at several great Best Westerns and even have reward points. We do not recommend staying at this Best Western.
