My boyfriend and I were in Newport in May and were approached by someone from Wyndham saying that they were looking to get more five star reviews and offered us a free night in exchange for a five-star review.
In the moment, we agreed, but we realized we had plans after. We put down a $50 deposit and were supposed to go to a timeshare presentation in order to get it back, then we'd stay the night. When I contacted Jay/Jason (the guy who approached us) by phone and text several times to cancel and get our deposit back since I cancelled right away, I never heard back. He also never told the club because they texted the day we were supposed to go asking where we were.
Shady business and I wouldn't believe the five star reviews since I'm sure many are bought with a free stay,
