Omni Providence

The room appears to be showing its age and would benefit from updates and general maintenance. Several items were in poor condition, including loose floor molding, a shower head that was coming off, and a broken curtain rail. Overall, the room felt worn from years of use and in need of refurbishment. The furniture was also less than ideal. Both the red chair and the desk chair were uncomfortable for extended periods of sitting. Additionally, the television system felt outdated and offered limited entertainment options. There was no ability to sign in to personal streaming services, leaving guests to either watch live television with commercials or pay for on-demand movies. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi experience only added to the frustration. Internet speeds appeared to be throttled to approximately 5 Mbps, making it nearly worthless for streaming content on personal devices. Given the lack of modern TV streaming capabilities, this significantly limited entertainment options within the room. Food and beverage prices within the hotel were also significantly marked up. Guests may want to avoid purchasing items such as soft drinks from the gift shop, where prices were substantially higher than retail. One positive feature is the hotel's direct connection to the neighboring mall via a skywalk, providing convenient access to shopping and dining options. However, this convenience is shared with the general public, as many people use the hotel as a pedestrian route across the highway, resulting in a higher volume of foot traffic through the property than expected.

Every staff member we encountered was absolutely lovely! Christine at the front desk very graciously understood our situation and gave us a complimentary upgrade the day of our arrival, perhaps in part due to our Omni Select Guest status and that this was one of 4 Omni stays for us this year. The service was top notch all around, including those delivering our morning breakfast. The room was clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable and the room service breakfast yummy. The hotel was conveniently close to the train station which was a bonus for us. We also enjoyed the covered elevated walkway to the adjoining mall where we picked up essentials and saw a movie one night. Getting to and from our city destinations via Uber was very easy and quick, even with the World Cup watch party which added to the visit fun. Our only blip was a housekeeping issue - we didn't need service our first day but were counting on it our second, which did not arrive until 6pm when we were already back in the room. We assume someone must have called out sick and were fine just having our trash emptied. Not a big deal.

Love this hotel! Right in the middle of Downtown Providence, close to everything. Hotel has great customer service. Everyone is courteous and professional from the valet personnel to the front desk personnel and room service. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable....especially the pillows! Room Service food was very delicious. The hotel personnel went above and beyond to make my husband's birthday weekend special. The brought us champagne and a birthday cake to the room.....he was so surprised! Even before arriving, you get a text from the hotel and you can request anything through there. I had a person called Bela that was exceptional! She used to answer me right away and made my experience even better by her kindness and knowledge of everything I needed.
