Marriott's OceanWatch at Grande Dunes

I have noticed a decline this year …26 Things are not being kept up. Like cleanliness ….. room floors. Walls with cracks…. Furniture in room run down…. Water outside broken to wash feet. Pool cleanliness. Dirt and hair. Most of all coachroaches. We told the manager. He called them palmetto bugs. Which are Cockroaches!!!! We have been coming for 5 years. Never have had an issue. We bring the whole family and spend several thousand dollars. We will NEVER come again. Even the staff seems dissatisfied……. Most of them the same. Some new. Most incompetent is the maintenance and attention to insects. Especially cockroaches …. I know it’s unusually hot and muggy….. but has been going on awhile. Not in full grown bugs Young as well. A lot. I’m so sad what has become of this beautiful family vacation.

Marriott saved the day! Made a reservation at a different hotel in Myrtle Beach and was so tremendously disappointed. I got on my phone right away. I logged into the Marriott Bonvoy account and then called the Marriott grand dunes to see if I could possibly get a reservation. The representative was very kind and was in considerate of my poor experience that they immediately gave me a reservation on the top floor and when I checked in Hakeem told me that they upgraded my room to a king suite. What a wonderful surprise and delightful ending to what started out as a bad experience. It’s definitely worthwhile to sign up for the Marriott Bonvoy rewards package. I highly recommend Marriott Myrtle Beach. It has everything that you could want for a wonderful vacation. I also want to mention that Arlando was our waiter and hostess was Maya.

The hotel itself is nice but now you have to pay to park in their parking lot.
