Ocean Dunes Resort and Villas

So disappointed. Myself and my Family was really uncomfortable the entire stay. Checked in, we reserved an Ocean Front suite. They put us in a small room with a view of the Ocean, not what we paid for. I immediately went the front desk, I was told that we have to wait until the next day to get the room we actually reserved. Not happy about that. The room had an odor, rust throughout the room, shower rods, etc. The frame of the door had rust. The Hallway smelled like urine. Looks like they attempted to paint the rooms over, that was a disaster, paint was all over the cabinets. They moved us the next day into the room we actually reserved. Only difference the room was larger. This placed is outdated and not well kept,desperately needs in upgrade.

I stayed here on 3/27/26-3/29/26. The entire time, I left a “do not disturb” card on the door. On Sunday morning, a woman knocked on the door and before I could even open it, she pushed the door open. I told her it was occupied and we didn’t need help. 5 minutes later, she came back with a man and opened the door (without knocking) and my 9 year old daughter was standing there fresh out of the shower with no clothes on. In front of two strangers. One being a grown man. The manager offered me an apology and comped me for half a night. Implied I was overreacting and was hesitant to give me her bosses number. Do not stay here

I was concerned staying at this property because of previous reviews on travel sites, but the price was too hard to pass up and I am happy I stayed! I traveled with my mom, aunt and 2 young cousins- 5 and 6 and the resort was perfect for their ages. The water park is at the hotel next door but its less than a 5 minute walk. The water park was clean not too crowded and the kids loved it. Perfect for their ages and we spent one full day there with them. The breakfast restaurant is also at the hotel next door but again, very short walk and a good price for the Breakfast buffet. On Fridays they have have Bluey buffet for the kids. The restaurant in this hotel is newly renovated and had great food. Its got more of an upscale feel. While the rooms are not exactly like the pictures, you can tell is just an outdated resort, the hotel was very clean and the staff was constantly cleaning the floors and premises to combat the sand and water from the beach. Anything we needed the household staff got from us and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The arcade had great games. The indoor miniature golf place is small but there are so many great miniature golf places down there to go to, its no loss. And the indoor pool is typical of indoor pools, small and smell of chlorine but makes no difference to kids who still love it. You are not going to get the most comfortable beds and the furniture needs updated, but that's a good trade off for the amenities and beach location you get. Its a good value overall.
