Westgate Myrtle Beach

I stayed at the Westgate Resort in Myrtle Beach SC from Saturday, August 01, 2026-Tuesday, August 4, 2026. When we checked into our hotel room 313, my partner laid down for a nap. We noticed a bed bug crawling on the pillow when I went to the bed to wake him up. We immediately reported it to the front desk and showed him the picture on the phone. They changed our room but Christian at the front basically told me that it wasn’t a bedbug. Security took a report and we were moved to room 333. Room 333 my partner kept complaining about his back itching but we didn’t see anything at first. Then this morning he woke up with bit marks on his back and I had bite marks down my legs, back, and hips. We pulled the cover back on the bed and found a bed bug crawling in the sheets and a bed bug in his shirt which was laying on the floor beside the bed. We called the front desk and were told that someone would come assist us in 20-30 mins. No one ever showed up so we checked out and left.

We drove about 10 hours for what was suppose to have been a 90 minute timeshare presentation that ended up being over 3 hours. At the end of the presentation the guy was very pushy even after explaining we was not interested. The room had visible scratches on the floor, the smell of mold and mildew and a view of the theme park. We was suppose to have got a 60 + dollar refundable deposit that we paid prior to our trip that we've yet to recieve. Needless to say we cut our 4 day 3 nights trip short and came back home.

This was our second time exchanging a week here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms are comfortably furnished. Pools are relaxing and well maintained. Complementary beach chairs available for guests. Sports bar and restaurant was the best I've had at any Westgate. Many other wonderful restaurants within minutes of there. Great resort!
