Sleep Inn & Suites Convention Center

This property was extremely disorganized and poorly managed. We were incorrectly marked as a “no show” while physically staying in the hotel and had to go to the front desk multiple times late in the evening to fix their mistakes. Room keys did not work, and when they were reset, no ID or verification was requested—this is a serious security concern. Staff also provided conflicting and inaccurate information about our reservation and stay. Corporate support was equally disappointing, stating that the hotel manager is the end of the road. This reflects a lack of basic operational control and guest safety. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

The best part of the stay was getting to leave. When I checked in the price was higher than shown on the website but my fault since I didn't book ahead. When I got to the room the toilet was stopped up and filled to almost the rim. When I talked to the front desk clerk said she'd try to find a plunger. She called back to let me know that she didn't have a plunger but that I would be welcome to come down from the 3rd floor to use the toiled in the lobby. When I asked for another room, I was told that she couldn't arrange that. When I asked to speak to a manager, guess what? I was told that she couldn't do that either, and she wasn't allowed to have the manager contact me. She did finally find a plunger and brought it to me so I COULD DO THEIR MAINTENANCE. When I started plunging the toilet started flooding. I did grab some towels and throw in the floor, we grabbed our suitcases and left. When I got to the front desk the desk clerk did go back to double check that the water wasn't still flowing. When she returned before she wanted to make sure that we didn't use any of the amenities in the room, then tried to explain why she couldn't do anything and that her feelings were hurt because I was talking to her angrily. She finally called someone to get a different room authorized. Along with the outside noise all night it was a flipping blast. I am sure the corporation doesn't give a dang about my stay and I will make them happy because it won't happen again. My advise is stay away unless you take your tools with you to do your own maintenance

We stayed here on an overnight visit to Charleston and were not disappointed. The beds were comfortable, the room features were well maintained, breakfast was good, airport noise was not objectionable. The exercise facility was in very good shape also. We enjoyed our stay here.
