I would describe this as one of the most challenging rental experiences of my life, and I've rented hundreds of condominiums, houses and rooms across the United States. Here is the review of my rental (June 10 - 17, 2026) of Atlantis Villas, Unit 105: The good: 1. The location was great--.08 miles from Main Street on Ocean Boulevard. Accessible to everything but still quiet. 2. Having three parking spaces directly under the unit was convenient. 3. The unit was large and spacious for 14 of us. 4. The unit was appropriate for our four youngest guests as it had few "breakables." 5. I received prompt email responses from MBVR...which was many times due to the issues listed below. 5. The unit is beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable. 6. The unit is close to the pool, hot tub, and the beach rinse station/walkover. The bad: 1. The listing is incorrect. The listing says there are four bathrooms upstairs, but there are three, with two downstairs. One of the upstairs bedrooms has two kings, not two kings and a full as listed. There are three parking spaces for the unit, not two. 2. The unit was not prepared for 14 guests. All of the pillows in the unit were old and flat. The air conditioning vent in one bedroom had been closed completely--we finally figured out why the room was so warm and were able to get the vent open on our second to last night with the handle of a broom. There were 13 forks and 2 teaspoons in a unit marketed as serving 20 people. There were no wine glasses and one dish towel. 2. The MBVR Guest Portal did not work well. I never received the door code through it, and there were few details in it about the unit except for the WIFI information. I was told it was a new system, and the bugs were being worked out. I had to ask for the door code via email three times, the last time being four hours before I made the drive to NMB. 3. I had to ask for information about the unit, and when I received it, it was incorrect. I asked what kind of coffee maker the unit had and whether there was an icemaker. A person was sent to find these answers. On the other hand, I was told the unit had "six carpeted stairs" to get to the second floor. The unit has two sets of 10-12 stairs each to get to the second floor. I was told the unit had "two parking spaces that might be large enough for a car and a golf cart." There were three spaces, but only one might have been able to squeeze a golf cart in with a small car. The ugly: 1. The unit had many items in disrepair. The dishwasher was so filthy it was unusable during our stay. There was an inch of dirty water in it, and the water spray arm was covered in mold. The kitchen sink disposal did not work until we pulled shards of broken glass out of it. Two dining chairs had broken legs. One kitchen cabinet had a broken hinge, and one of the outdoor rocking chairs had a broken back with rusty screws sticking out. One side of the first-floor sliding door to the balcony did not work. 2. The unit was not clean. We noticed several dirty areas as we entered the unit. The floor in front of the stairs had noticeable dirt, the corners of the stairs were full of dirt and sand, and there were a large number of cobwebs on a curtain rod that would come have come off with one quick dusting. We used the vacuum to clean the main balcony's dirty carpet. There was mildew on one of the outdoor chairs that we wiped away easily. 3. Requesting service from MBVR was challenging. I asked for one extra set of towels because the king room downstairs only had one washcloth for the two guests. It took two days for them to arrive. I asked for pillowcases for extra pillows upstairs that a guest was using—they had no cases. These arrived but were king-size and not regular. A bathmat was missing in one of the downstairs bathrooms. I gave up requesting. The MBVR person corresponding with me never once gave their name or phone number. 4. A contractor came and removed the toilet from the bathroom that served the first floor (had a door to the hallway). He told me that it was dripping wastewater into the garage and showed me the cracked leaking pipe. This occurred on the second day of our stay. The request to investigate the leak came from the HOA; therefore, it is most likely MBVR knew of the issue prior to our stay. MBVR asked afterwards if they could have someone come fix the toilet, and I declined, stating that the contractor had told me the problem was a serious one. I asked for no more interruptions during our stay. 5. My request for a $500 refund (4%) of the $13,000+ cost of the rental was refused. 6. MBVR then asked me if an exterminator could come to service the unit. I said no, as we had a 9-month child who was still crawling on the floor and holding onto walls. If the rental had been $6,000, $7,000 or even $9,000 for the week, I would have realized I was getting a good deal, and my expectations would have been low. However, for almost $2,000 a night, I expect things to be clean and in working order--especially the dishwasher and toilet that served all guests on the first floor. By refusing to give even a 4% refund, MBVR showed an extreme lack of custom service. I would not recommend unit 105 at Atlantis Villas or My Beach Vacation Rentals.

Very roomy clean and loved staying here. I usually stay in condos in Myrtle Beach. First time staying in North Myrtle. This place was amazing. Loved the privacy no wait for the elevator. Total different experience than what I’m used to. I do hate being away from all the restaurants and places I love but the peace and quiet was worth the drive.

First.........Dont Book This Rental. I don't know where to start. This experience was not good. The unit was outdated and not clean. We killed a few roaches while we were there. The carpet is disgusting in the bedrooms. I had to request clean shower liners due to them having mold on them. The fridge was leaking water. Internet was really slow and most of the TV's in the bedroom did not work. There are a few balconies off from the bedrooms and the chairs on the balcony should be thrown away. When we were leaving and pulled the sheets of the bed, the mattress covers were gross! The handrail going up to the stairs were nasty and sticky. Lastly parking is limited and it was difficult to find overflow parking for our family. We stayed in a 8 bedroom and only allowed 4 spaces. We had to leave our cars several blocks away . I don't want another family to be blindsided like my family was. Do NOT stay here, RUN.
