I used to think this place was OK until the guy who runs the place went out of their way to tell me my dog needed to be on a leash right before we walked upstairs to our room. We both have trouble walking at this point and going up stairs isnt exacltly fun for either of us, especially on a leash after weeks in the mountains. There wasnt a single person outside, we were causing no harm. We wouldnt even have been outside in the parking lot if we could have just used the patio. Rooms rooms are fine. I'm guessing most people wouldnt be able to open the patio doors - you have to jam your entire weight into them to move the deadbolt. Patio lights stay on all night so the room doesn’t really get dark. Safety Its safe. except for one of the guests who rents here and drives around the parking lot corners doing 30 MPH. Walkability if you have a dog there is a very small 10x20 area for your dog to potty. Not everyone picks up after their dogs, and since they are required to be on a leash you risk stepping in it. Bags are provided, bins are emptied. If you decide to walk anywhere from here it is either a steep climb or steep descent in either direction and there is no sidewalk. Dog walkability score -10 Food & drinks they have vending machines with snacks and laundry. Soda was 2.50. Noteworthy details If you book in person they will charge you a 60% higher rate than online hide that from you

We had a church group planning on coming to Cleveland, and I used my online booking company for the best deal. Originally, Motel 6 was my choice, but then I found a better accommodation. Having the cancellation guarantee, I submitted my cancellation thirty days in advance.
Upon my arrival in Cleveland, I got an email charging me for the stay at Motel 6. I believed this would be an easy fix as I had my cancellation document with me. I called the location to explain what happened, and was poorly treated by the staff.
The woman advised me that I did not cancel, and they were within their rights to charge me for the room. I attempted to answer her, but she was not interested in listening at all. She informed me that the manager was aware of the problem and agreed with the charge. Finally, she allowed me to explain that I had the written email cancellation, and she was not swayed. She said to contact the online booking company for this to be handled and refunded by them. I asked to talk to the manager, but she was unavailable.
This occurred on July 28, 2025, and as of October 16, 2025, is still unresolved. My cancellation was completed on June 25, 2025. According to Booking.com and Sam’s Club, the Motel 6 group has not responded to contact. In two months, they are trying to ignore being dishonest.
The hotel was nearly empty when I drove by during my stay in Cleveland, and this might be why. Treating your potential guests with no respect and trying to steal money has lost my business forever.
