Clarion Inn & Suites

The location was ideal. It's at the far end of town (coming from Pigeon Forge). Very walkable to lots of attractions and restaurants. It had a less busy feel at this part of the parkway. This hotel made us feel like we were in a luxury hotel. You could see the recently remodeled place had a lot of thought put into the design. It smelled so clean and fresh on every floor. When I made our reservations, David was so helpful, polite and respectful. He is a GREAT representative of the Black Bear Inn. However, everyone that assisted us throughout the 5 days that we were there was super. The elevator and halls were so nice. Real wood on the walls, (seemed like it was an upgrade from painted halls.) Updated bathroom. Nice new lighted mirror, the tub/shower had white subway tile, water pressure in the shower was great, (it didn't slow down or cool down when someone would flush the toilet), updated faucet and lots of fresh linen. The bedroom had soft close drawers, plenty of drawer space, the mini fridge, microwave, a safe in the room, and wood window shade. Upon entering the room, everything was immaculate, desk area, plenty of counter space, they had wood flooring for the walkway between the door and the balcony, carpet under the bed area which was cozy when getting out of bed, lamps undated, nice big tv, coffee maker, and plenty of space to store your luggage without being in the way. And the breakfast, was amazing. It wasn't just a help yourself type situation. They had people who would serve eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and potatoes. Then you could get your drink at a drink station, or go to the waffle station for those and a separate counter for the bagels and muffins. No line back up like at other hotels. People seemed to enjoy their jobs and made you feel welcome. Definitely a place we will stay at again.

We were booked elsewhere, but after an unfortunate evening, we returned to Black Bear. We had stayed with Black Bear before, but for some reason, had booked at an adjacent hotel. I'm so glad we were able to get a room at Black Bear! The desk personnel are always great! The location is convenient, and the hotel was quiet. The room we were assigned was recently updated, and extremely clean. The hallways looked great, and the common areas were comfortable and welcoming! We had a great stay. Housekeeping was awesome, the free breakfast was everything we needed, and the staff was so kind. We'll never stay anywhere else in Gatlinburg, ever again!
