HILTON GARDEN INN DALLAS-ADDIS

We have stayed here many times and always felt it was a top-notch property. This time was different. Room on entry smelled “sour,” which dissipated a bit over time, but it also felt clammy, just uncomfortably damp, as if the AC was not doing its dehumidifying job. Bathroom ventilation was non-existent, taking ages to defog the mirror, and every surface after a shower was coated with condensation. Lobby amenities, such as big urns of ice water always available, were sitting empty when we arrived, and since it was 95 degrees-plus outside, would have been especially welcome. New owners? I don’t know, but will rethink going back.

Comfortable. Spacious double room and a sufficiently large bathroom. Dresser and wardrobe to arrange all the clothes for a week-long stay. The Wi-Fi was a bit weak. American-style breakfast with a chef, thus offering freshly made eggs in all varieties. Sausages and bacon cooked to order. They do not have Italian espresso. I had a good experience.

The actual pool does know resembles the picture on the website and the pool was dirty. I realize you cannot control wildlife but seeing 3 ducks in pool was somewhat of a turn off. The hot-tub was out of service. The ice machine on the 1st floor did not work. Our room was not cleaned on Friday, May 29th. We ran out of toilet paper and had to request more. The bathtub was slow in draining until we removed clumps of hair from the drain which is disgusting. Needless to say our experience was not good. We wanted to move to another hotel but we were stuck since we went with the nonrefundable rate. I completed a survey and all I received was an apology.
