La Loma Inn

We stayed here after visiting Marfa TX. Only about 20-25 minutes east of Marfa, Alpine TX has many more options for an overnight stay. We found this motel on-line and decided to give it a shot especially after talking to Faith on the phone who seems to be quite the character. We checked in and got our key from a friendly guy at the front desk. The room was basic as expected from other reviews. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The AC was more quiet than those found in more expensive hotels. The beds were fresh and comfortable. I recommend and enjoyed our stay here. It reminded me of the mom and pop hotels we stayed at when I was a kid. For $65 a night for 3 adults, you can’t go wrong. Oh yeah, no breakfast but plenty of places to grab something just a few blocks away.

I have been staying at the La Loma, usually on a motorcycle trip, just about every time I have traveled to the Big Bend area. There were times that I couldn't because of the "No Vacancy" sign was on. This time I made reservations so our room was waiting on us. On this trip I found out the little motel is under new ownership and that owner is a 'hands on' owner. She is wanting you to enjoy your stay at her little motel....and we did. Her mom helps out as well and she is an asset to the business. These types of motels, sometimes referred to as "Mom and Pop",are getting harder and harder to find across the country. I prefer these types especially when I am traveling on a motorcycle. Needless to say, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great....and all at a great rate. Our room had a microwave, refrigerator, and etc. Anything else we needed all we had to do was ask. I'm looking forward to my next trip to the Big Bend Country and staying at this special little motel.

Basic Motel, nothing fancy. Very clean, plenty of very hot water. WiFi is 3MB plenty fast for email. The lady in charge (Faith) is the most delightful, helpful and friendly person. We stayed just short of a week. Coffee pot (2 cup), microwave and fridge in room, onsite laundromat. We will be back. Charming in it's simplicity :-)
