Rodeway Inn & Suites

This is an old property and it shows. I almost cancelled our reservation as soon as I pulled in. No one was at the front desk to check us is. Found one of the staff who was eventually able to get someone. I'm guessing they are just short staffed. Room was relatively clean but with the older motel feel. Internet was so slow that it was difficult to do anything on the computer. And this also controls the TV, so that was a miserable fail. They blamed it on the weather, but c'mon. Our room was less than 50 yards from the office. If it had been $30 cheaper, I might have expected some of this, but the price is comparable to nearby name brand hotels. I liked the idea of this spot, as it is owned by a man that graduated college in Dallas, and appears to give back to the community. But, it came up short in too many areas.

I booked a room through Agoda and accidentally booked the wrong date because I was inside a horrible domestic violence shelter at the time and the signal was weak. Instead of just accepting the cancellation request and rebooking for tonight the front desk clerk cancelled and made me wait several hours in the lobby. I am TIRED and JUST WANT A ROOM for a night before heading out of town to another shelter. This horrible treatment is unacceptable. The booking is non-refundable so I'm guessing they just want to keep my money. If this is what freedom from harm has to offer I guess I should've stayed with my abuser.

My rating is based primarily on the overall value of my accommodation. This is a budget motel with a budget price- let’s keep that in mind. I didn’t expect luxury or even “newness”. Dated decor and a wall unit a/c are fine with me if I can get a good rate. I am primarily just sleeping in my room after-all. I did expect clean and maintained, and this is what I got. The staff was professional, the room was clean, there was even a coffee maker which I wasn’t expecting. I would totally stay here again, and I would recommend it to family and friends.
