Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown

This hotel left a lot to be desired. The first negative was the $69 a day valet fee. Nothing like paying an extra $235 for something you didn’t plan on. The hotel has plenty of parking, they just choose to charge for it. I saw this mentioned nowhere when booking. The next negative was the AC didn’t work the best in our room which makes sleeping difficult. Another negative was the noise. We were on the 17th floor and I had to wear hearing protection Friday and Saturday night just to sleep due to the music outside. Our room was never cleaned once in 3 days. The hotel is in a borderline sketchy neighborhood with a homeless shelter about two blocks away. The pluses were everyone was friendly, it’s very close to 6th St and the room was massive. For dropping close to $1k for 3 nights I was pretty disappointed.

Nasty, musky and mildew smell. It was quiet because come to find out very few guests. Pool looked nasty, but the real issue was the bed linens. The most concerning issue was the bed linens. The sheets appeared unwashed and had what looked like dried human bodily fluid on them, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious health and sanitation concerns.Ll

A gentleman by the name of Diego Z was one of the best valet parkers we’ve ever had. He always remembered our name, was extremely courteous, and wonderfully helpful. Thanks Diego!
