We were given a "newly renovated" room which obviously didn't have a final inspection. The faucet in the bathroom was extremely loose and when the handle was lifted it came completely off. The hot water in the nook with the coffee maker, etc wasn't connected so no hot water here. And no hot water in bathroom sink. There were no bath towels, tv by the bed was not working, exposed electrical outlet by tv, commode seat was loose and wouldn't tighten up, and the floor needed sweeping. On the plus side the mattress was a really good one! Staff was friendly & tried their best. It is is a good location and within walking distance to downtown & 6th Street where all the action is :)

I stayed at the hotel on December 29, checked out on December 30, traveled to another city, and returned to stay again on December 31. During my check-in on December 29, I was not charged any security deposit. On December 31, during check-in, the receptionist named Demoris requested a security deposit. I did not refuse to provide it; I handed over my card, and the deposit was successfully charged. Out of simple curiosity and in a calm, polite manner, I asked why I had not been charged a deposit on December 29 and whether this was a new policy. Her response was extremely rude and unprofessional. She asked, “Was I the one who checked you in on the 29th?” When I replied no, she stated, “Then I don’t care who checked you in or what you did. Today it’s me, and this is how you have to do things with me.” Despite this, I remained respectful and did not escalate the situation. Additionally, on the morning of December 31 around 9:00 AM, I called the hotel and spoke with a staff member on duty. I requested the same room I had stayed in on December 29, and that staff member confirmed that the room was booked for me. However, upon arrival, the receptionist denied giving me that room despite the prior confirmation and misbehaved with me in front of other guests. From the beginning of this interaction, I noticed a clear difference in how I was treated compared to other guests. The receptionist was polite, friendly, and complimentary toward white guests—engaging them warmly and even complimenting their clothing. When I approached the desk, I was not greeted and was spoken to rudely from the outset. Based on this behavior, I believe I was racially profiled. The following day, while I was sitting in the lobby drinking coffee, a valet employee approached me and stated that “people like me” were not allowed to sit there. When I asked him to clarify what he meant, he said the area was only for paying guests. After this incident, the receptionist on duty also approached me and behaved inappropriately toward me. Once again, I felt racially profiled. I chose to stay at this hotel specifically because it is a Wyndham member hotel. I have always trusted Wyndham properties and have consistently booked Wyndham hotels. Unfortunately, this experience was completely opposite to my expectations and has given me a very negative impression of both the hotel and the Wyndham brand. After these incidents, I requested to submit a written complaint and asked to speak with the hotel manager. However, I was not given the opportunity to do so. I was repeatedly informed by staff that the manager was away from the hotel and unavailable to take my complaint. Each time I followed up, I was told again that she was not present and therefore could not accept the complaint. As a result, I was effectively prevented from formally reporting the issue while still on the property.
