Bluff's Landing Marina and Lodge

Completely disappointed with our stay here. We have been here numerous times over the last four years and our stay this past weekend was absolutely the worst. To start with, our room was not ready on time. So, we went to the pool which had green mold along the bottom edges and a discusting film on top of the water. It was clear the pool had not been cleaned in a while. We had no remote in the room for the duration of our stay. We tried contacting the property manager and left a message but never recieved a return call. Called Monday and was finally able to speak with someone. I was told I would recieve a return call from management. Got a return call from someone who was not even in the same state, which was no help at all. This property has gone downhill and on-site management appears to be non-existent. Save yourself a headache and stay somewhere else.

Pros: The room was clean and properly stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. and the bed was fairly comfortable. The air conditioner worked fairly well though seemed to have to cycle frequently. Mildly to Moderately annoying: The TV remote did not work properly making it difficult to navigate with only two of the directional buttons working. Cons: The check-in was a nightmare. The online check in through OpenKey said the room was being prepared even though I had checked in the night before, we arrived an hour after the check in time at 4:15 pm,and it was pretty obvious the hotel was not full. There was no hotel staff around the hotel building. The office at "The Landing" was closed, and the person at the marina office said everything was done online and he did not know anything else. The number provided on OpenKey went to a disconnected line. The number on the website went to the marina where the guy still knew nothing and mysteriously locked up and disappeared after saying his boss would be by in an hour and might be able to help. We got lucky catching other people staying at the hotel as they were leaving, and they had the number of the lady who handled the hotel. They gave us her cell phone. She arrived 15 minutes later and was apologetic but we had to use a physical key to open the door as the virtual key through Openkey never worked. All in all it took about an hour and a half to finally get into our room after we arrived on site. Also, received a text from the website notifying us that the room was ready at 7:45 pm.... I would have to think really hard about staying here again

The hotel is in a great place, and is clean and well maintained. The AC was out in our room and they had a small stand alone unit that could not keep up with the Texas heat. Been here twice now and that has been my only complaint, besides the fire alarm going off at 5:15 Sunday morning. All in all would stay again.
