Quality Inn and Suites on the Beach

This Hotel Needs Substantial Improvement. After multiple visits, we have observed that the quality has steadily worsened: it started out as average, then became poor, and now it's simply unacceptable. It lists multiple amenities from WIFI, Pool, to Free breakfast all are now substandard. The WIFI failed, the pool was unusable due to dirt, and breakfast service requires improvement. The appearance and cleanliness of the facility is not inviting. After checking in and going to our room, we noted that the room had not been serviced, dirty pillows, no towels, no toilet paper, and trash from the former guests on the patio. Our room was marketed as having a workspace, so why have a desk with no chair! Why have a check-in policy of 4 PM and not have the room serviced and checked before then no excuse for this kind of shortcoming. We found the fire and carbon monoxide alarms for the room inside a drawer of the cabinet, I checked the hook-ups they were both different, so I guess the maintenance team could not fix it, so they just left them off. Huge safety issue. The room and patio door locks and latches did not work properly either. The room was dirty and dusty throughout, a big decline in cleanliness from before, in just a few years. Normally, when new management takes over, things become better not worse. After swimming in the ocean, we tried to take a shower outside, we could not do it, the knobs on the showers were so stuck, you would need a pair of pliers to turn them. Forget about going for a morning swim in the pool because the water was very cloudy and dirty, and the skimmers were clogged with so much debris that the suction and circulation could not work due to lack of upkeep and maintenance of the equipment. Our room keys did not work on two of the days, the WIFI never worked, the pool was unusable and breakfast was terrible. One of the other guests said aloud that, “This is the worst coffee in the world and nothing in this hotel works!” I must agree. The coffee was just clear brown colored water, with no taste or smell. There was no jelly, juice, or water. There were eggs and plenty of salt packets but no pepper packets. Furthermore, you could not identify who was a staff member or employee, like whoever was around the front desk would attempt to help you. When we checked out, the person at the reception desk could not even print out our receipt because he said the printer was not working. That was the icing on the cake. He said he would e-mail it to us; you guessed it no e-mail. I called back to the hotel after we returned home and got another employee to send me the receipt. We have stayed in multiple hotels around the world, and this experience was the absolute worst. The Choice Hotel Brand has a standard. Currently this hotel does not live up to the expected standard. We planned to stay here for five days and paid for it but ended up leaving a day earlier because of the above shortcomings.

This place is HORRIBLE! We were put in a room that appeared to be somewhat clean and when I took down the bedsheets later that evening there was hair everywhere! It was obvious the sheets had not been changed! The property is very run down inside and out! It needs major updating. Would NOT recommend staying here!

There were NO towels, wash clothes, shampoo and conditioner, soap or toiletries (no toilet paper) in my room. Waited 20 minutes at the front desk and finally front desk agent gave me 2 towels had to ask again for all the other items. No phone in the room just cords hanging out of the wall. The next morning my room flooded, and according to maintenance they knew about the water issue and should not have gave me that room. It ruined my laptop cord and cell charger. As of this July, I have stayed 45 nights in a Choice Hotel this year, and this is by far the worst. I checked out early and before checkout time and they refused to refund my second night. Definitely will NOT be returning to this location ever, and I do not recommend anyone stay at this Quality Inn & Suites Corpus Christi Beachside. I expected better. I have stayed at this location multiple times over the past few years and this has by far been the worst. Not sure if they are under new management or owners, but something needs to be done. *Disappointed Diamond Elite Member
