ATHENS HOTEL SUITES

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The kitchenette in our room was especially impressive—clean, well-equipped, and incredibly convenient. The staff truly stood out during our stay; everyone we encountered was kind, attentive, and eager to help with any questions we had. When we requested extra towels, they were delivered almost immediately, which really showed their commitment to great service. The location is also a huge plus—close to the convention center and surrounded by everything you need. Considering the quality of the accommodations and the level of service, the price is hard to beat. I was honestly surprised to see any negative reviews because our experience was nothing short of excellent. This hotel is a hidden gem, and we’ll absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Houston—even though we usually like to try new places.

!! Don't bother. This is not an accommodating hotel/motel. Do not listen to anything they say they will provide to you. Best stay away. Hidden and insane fees everywhere. Parking is not worth it and despite them saying you'll be accommodated, they still manage to screw you over. Disgusting place and the least welcoming staff. Within the first couple of minutes the staff assisting us goes outside and talks to her friends and you can hear the staff being inappropriate and unprofessional while within earshot. The man who "assisted" with parking is a total unprofessional misery man who shouldn't be in an industry about customer service. Oh, that's right because this place isn't about customer service it's about trying to scam you every which way possible. Ending up leaving at 3am when the owner threaten to kick us out after being belligerent and ignorant.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone by any means, I stayed here with a few friends back in September and never wanted to leave a hotel as quickly as I wanted to. The room was absolutely filthy, the sheets weren't even changed out by the time we got there. The sheets had hair, dirt, nail clippings, and weird stains on them that I don't even know what they were but they looked disgusting. The blinds of the room were broken to the point that someone could LOOK into our room and was held together by what looked like duct tape. We found a DEAD roach in the cabinet, and parts of the walls had holes and weird stains??? The lobby alone felt unsafe while checking in, a random guy came in who didn't even look like someone who had a booking at the hotel just stood there waiting and gave my party and I really unsettling vibes. Trying to park at this place was extremely unsafe due to the document they had me put on my windshield had all of my room and contact information in it, the parking lot itself was unsafe due to how far it was from the hotel and there was no form of security to prevent someone from getting to my car or SEEING my hotel room information and knowing EXACTLY where my party and I were staying. My party and I didn't even stay for more than two hours that day of checking in because of how uncomfortable this place made us and ended up booking elsewhere that same day. I have been working with Expedia to get a refund from this place because they could only "do a voucher" which I never wanted in the first place cause I checked out that very same day because my party and I wanted to get the heck out of there was quick as possible. I'm still dealing with this place as of right now because I've been making a big stink about getting a refund where they finally sent what looks like a cheap-looking voucher for ONLY my time booked and not for the random $40 charge to my card for the parking which was honestly a laughable parking lot with how poorly set up it was. Anyone who's stayed there and never got a refund, keep fighting for it cause with how horrible my experience alone has been with this place, I'm not settling for a voucher I'm never going to use.
