BEST WESTERN SAM HOUSTON INN & SUITES

OK first the pros: Good location When checking out, the receptionist was really nice Then cons: When checking in the main feeling I got was that I was disturbing the on duty receptionist (who seems to be the manager)... Room was FILTHY! I mean, really in need of proper cleanup, not just quick dusting! Worst was the floor. Feet just stuck on both carpet and bathroom tiles, as if walking on sticky tape. I took a picture of my socks before throwing them away, I really wore them for one evening only, and in the room only. You can take a look and see for yourselves. Another pic from bathroom, don't even want to know what the dark brown stuff is. This used to be an ok place to stay, but definitely not any more!

The breakfast selection and the internet connection are below average. This is a workcation for me and my work laptop VPN dropped every 15 minutes or so. If you are in the area and don't need the internet access for work and don't care for breakfast then I would recommend this hotel but otherwise I would pay more and stay at the Marriott Fairfield Inn across the freeway.

Hotel was a decent middle road hotel. Only issue I had was one light bulb was out, window curtain was broken so had trouble closing all the way and my room faced the front parking lot where there are 2 spotlights, and the carpet was not vacuumed good. The do serve a good hot breakfast, but don't bother getting the breakfast tacos, nothing but tortilla.
