Learned after booking online that I couldn’t pay for someone else’s room. Tried a cancellation within minutes. Not only did the front desk deny cancellation twice when prompted by the booking service, when I called, they lied about the denial, talked over me, and hung up the phone without any kind of resolve. Don’t support crooked businesses.

I knew a 1 star budget hotel would be basic and worn. It was. HOWEVER, the total apathy by the staff was inexcusable. No one was near so after several minutes a guy grunted something. After several MORE minutes a woman shows up. She was not rude but totally unfriendly. Breakfast was a joke, and the same woman had the same unacceptable demeanor. I never saw a smile, heard a please not heard a thank you.

How this isn't the last on the list, I have no idea. I was scheduled for surgery in Houston but live two hours away. Wanted something super cheap. My mom and five year old planned to stay in hotel while my husband and I went to my outpatient surgery. Went through Priceline. $76. Ignored the bad reviews and thought ppl were exaggerating. They were not. Horrible place. Overweight, underdressedand obviously on drugs, prostitutes were at all corners of the hotel and walking in and out of a closet or room attached to so called lobby that looked more like a walk in clinic from the ghetto rather than a lobby. Rude service desk lady who sat talking to the numerous shady men lingering around and meeting with above mentioned underdressed woman. We didn't even make it to our room. Very unsafe environment. Drugs, prostitution, hourly rates and more! They would not refund us but we went up the road and paid $190 at quality inn.
