Great first night at the Courtyard Marriott New Braunfels Riverside, but our last night was rough. Around 5 AM two toddlers in the room above us were running back and forth, and the floors are so thin you could hear every step. Even my fan on for white noise didn’t help. Called the front desk a few times — the receptionist was really nice, apologized, and said they’d already been up there more than once. They gave the guests above a final warning since they were checking out anyway. Room had a bit of a musty smell too. There’s construction near the hotel but we didn’t actually hear it, and the roads getting to the property are a little annoying. Staff really made up for it though. They gave us a free breakfast voucher, and everyone at the café and Starbucks was super friendly. The woman at the counter recognized us from the noise complaint — turned out she was the one who went up there herself — and put breakfast on the house. Had fried eggs, gluten-free toast, bacon, fruit, and coffee, which hit the spot after a bad night’s sleep. I was still half asleep during that conversation, so if I came off short with anyone, sorry about that. By 9:33 AM I could still hear heavy walking from upstairs, and it was still going at 10 AM too — a bit much for that late in the morning. The lobby, hallways, and breakfast area were clean and had a really friendly atmosphere overall. The hotel also has a pool and hot tub, and the pool area is fenced in, which is nice for anyone traveling with kids. Noise, construction, and road access aren’t really on the front desk, but how fast they responded and how kind everyone was at the front desk, café, and Starbucks says a lot. Thanks to the team for handling it well.

Stayed here for a visit with family to New Braunfels in July and it was beautiful. We had a room with river views and had two queen beds. The views were absolutely beautiful especially sunrise and sunset as the property has river access. Although you can’t enter the river to go tubing from there, there were families enjoying time by the water and some even swimming. Comal river access for tubing was less than a 10 minute drive from there and we did get to conveniently enjoy that. As far as the room, we do wish the that the TV was bigger than a 32-in, especially for the price of the stay. It seemed small for the room. The bathrooms could use an update as well, but for the time we spent in the room, it was a minor want. Overall if you’re looking for a conveniently located, safe hotel, with beautiful scenic views, this should be a top contender.

Terrible experience! Do not book. The hotel is under construction, and the crews start at 8:30 am and end at 6:00 pm. Even on the weekends. Drilling, hammering and jack hammering all day! No mention of this at check in. They just stuck us in a room surrounded by rooms under construction. We ventured out to the pool to escape the noise only to find large cranes and more construction. Yes, the remodel is needed. Bathrooms have mold, showers leak, carpets are gross. This whole experience shows how the owners care more about their profits than their guests. We will never stay at this hotel again. PS- I did not complain at the front desk, because those that did became even more frustrated with the lack of concern.
