Best Western Garden Inn & Suites

I am traveling to the Harlingen area for my clinical rotations for school (so I am on a budget). The hotel I normally stay at Best Western in Harlingen (LOVE this place) was booked for this week. So I have had great luck with Priceline in the past so I used them to book my stay for this week. I arrived at the America’s Best Value In and Suites and the room they gave me had dried milk and cereal on the chair and the sheets were dirty with yellow stains on the mattress pad. I called Priceline and they told me to talk to the front desk. I did and the people were nice enough to put me in a suite which I didn’t care because I am only sleeping in this place during the day. My main concern is a clean bed - which I told them. So the next room I pulled back the blanket and found 2 blood stains on the sheets and makeup on the pillow sham. I again went to the front desk and asked them to please just put some clean sheets on the bed and I had to leave for work. I returned the next morning to find the sheets looked pretty clean. When I climbed in the bed I felt a lump on the corner of the mattress but I thought it was maybe the cotton from the mattress pad. I went to sleep. Several hours later I couldn’t get that lump out of my mind so I pulled back the sheets and the mattress pad to find lots (like all over the entire pad underside) of dead bugs pictured below. I was so freaked out I hurriedly packed my stuff and took just a couple of pictures for proof. Advice - do not stay here! I am still waiting for Priceline to call me back.

After my own experience and other reviews I believe it is the policy of this hotel to reuse linens. We found 3 separate fresh blood spots on our pillows and linens. Beware potential disease and bloodborn pathogens!

We went in early to register and got two rooms so we could go straight to our rooms late after our event. We were given 2 dirty rooms. We got in w/beds not made and dirty towels. The guy that night at the window was rude and made it seem like we did it. He asked me 4 times if we had been in the room. He just didn't get it. They gave me a dirty room and was trying to pin it on me. The place is pretty dirty. There was some guy there with a pit bull that charged at me so who knows what sort of other creatures reside there. I think they skimp on laundry cost or soap as the sheets were dirty. I found some rolled up toilet paper on the floor that came out of you know what. The walls and doors were stained. Not much pride in this facility but milking what is left of it. I've stayed there previously a few years back but this place has tanked.
