Pioneer Lodge

We really enjoyed our stay.We accidently booked on the wronge week and Scott was encouraging and helpful to reschedule it.He is a great asset as he is knowledgeable of the area and rules of the park and the surrounding area.He was helpful , cheerful, and very personable .The room was great and very clean.Petty Ranch is centrally located to the park and resturants.They provide coffee and water to guests,as well as complimentry cruiser bikes.We felt we recieved an awesome value and great customer service! We cant wait to stay there again!

Super location in cozy town of Springdale, near Zion NP. Hotel room was neat, bathroom seemed recently renovated. Big flaw is the air conditioning that only seems to be able to handle full (no possibility to turn it down) and therefore huge noise at night. Expand and you expel your bed from the heat...is also next to the bed on the floor so that you constantly get cold air blown on your body when you sleep next to it. Another flaw are the large projecting solid wood points of the beds. Very painful when you hit that with your shins..

When we booked through Expedia back in May it was Zion Pioneer Lodge. Confirmation email had that name. When we were looking for it, we could not find that name anywhere and coming in from the direction we came in the big stone covers up the new name on the balcony. We walked in and asked where was Zion Pioneer Lodge and they said this was it. Evidently the name changed a year ago, but they didn’t take the time to notify Expedia. Later in the evening when I wanted to call, I looked at my confirmation email and the number was no longer in service. While the room looked clean and updated the bathroom shower had no grab bars and the floor was very slick. I almost fell. There is no microwave in the room(despite listing under New name indicating it has one), there’s no coffee pot in the room, but it did have a Refrigerator. For coffee and microwave you had to go to the office. The young man who checked us in, didn’t tell us that. Our room had no curtains so light was shining through the blinds. After I found the correct number and made a call someone unscrewed the light right outside our window but there was still light shining in from other lights. THERE IS NO ICEMAKER ON SITE FOR ANYONE TO USE. What hotel doesn’t have an icemaker? Great location, but this is way overpriced for the lack of amenities. The next morning, when checking out, I spoke to the manager. He was nice and wrote down my concerns about no grab bar in the bathroom and not being told microwave and coffee was in the office, he offered no refund of anything and told me I had to get with Expedia. Well as you can imagine, Expedia has done nothing. I will try to find someplace else.
