Poor customer service from Christy, the general manager. Several issues, but the most frustrating was that after a very hot day attending the State Fair and Capitol 4th, we arrive back at our room just before 1 am. In desperate need of showers, only to find that ours was non functioning. The young man at the desk was polite, but stated he didn’t know how to fix it. After calling Christy, we were given a room in the 4th floor. Our reservation was for a 1st floor room due to mobility issues, which was stated in the reservation request. We pack up everything at 1:30 am and take it to the 4th floor to a sweltering room with an ac making a noise that indicated it wasn’t functioning properly and not cooling the room. There’s not a thermostat in that room, so I can’t state the temp of that room, but our original room had a temp of 75 degrees, when we checks in, at 11am on 7/3/26, and after running all day, our room was still only cooled to 73 degrees. As I write this it’s now 2:00 am and we are being moved to another room (room number 3). When I asked the general manager about compensation for all this, she stated she would NOT compensate us beyond “some rewards points.” At 1:32, I received an email from Christy letting me know she credited me 5,000 points. The noise of the ac is in the new (3rd) room too, so little sleep will be had. The young man at the desk checked other available rooms, all on the 4th floor, and shared that each ac made the same noise. He did the best he could given the options available to him.
Minor issues in room 1 were a damaged desk chair, complete with rips and tears, that you cannot sit in without ending up on the floor, my daughter found out the hard way. Then, there’s a damaged wall and stained room chair. The second and third room also had a distressed/ripped up desk chair, but no wall damage or stained other chair, in either. However, room 3 had a half drank water in the fridge and after 30 minutes (2:36 to be exact) of the ac on 61 degrees, it’s still muggy in the room and no cooler. On the plus side, the shower in room three did function properly. Had it not been after 1 am on July 4th in DC, we would have checked out and filed for a refund due to unacceptable service and room conditions with our credit card company.

Check-in was smooth. No surprises. As we entered from the side door, we observed construction equipment and workers. And of course, that meant noise. We were on the second floor, as the inside work was being done on the first floor. Occasionally, the construction noise was over-the-top LOUD.
Our clock/alarm was not working and the front desk clerk handed me a replacement.
My wife noticed stains on the bed covers, as we made ready for bed. We dealt with it, as it was too late and too inconvenient to deal with it that late.
Breakfast was average but adequate.
Adequate free parking.

Dear Best Western Alexandria Fort Belvoir Team,
We stayed at your hotel in May while visiting George Washington’s Mount Vernon Museum for America 250th anniversary.
I would like to take a moment to thank Stacy (apologies if I have misspelled the name) and Marcus for making our stay so enjoyable.
We arrived late in the evening and were warmly welcomed at reception with big smiles. Our reservation was quickly located, and we were addressed by our last name with a high level of professionalism, which made an excellent first impression.
The room and bathroom were outstanding very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Breakfast was also well prepared and offered a great selection to start the day.
At one point, we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room, but Marcus at the front desk promptly assisted us by providing a new key, all with a smile and genuine understanding.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. A big thank you again to Stacy and Marcus for their outstanding service. They are an asset to your hotel and helped make our visit smooth.
On this special D-Day anniversary in Normandy, we would also like to stop and send our warmest thoughts from France.
Kind regards,
Anya and Jean
