My husband and I visit Washington, DC often. We look for nice hotels with good prices in the suburbs, usually Virginia. We have stayed at the Comfort Inn in Ballston Spa a few times. Our main reason is, It is reasonably priced for the area and convenient for driving into DC. There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby. This hotel is clean and quiet. Parking is free and very convenient. The rooms could use some refreshing and updating. It would be nice to have a more comfortable chair or two in the room. Our biggest complaint is the lighting. There are several lamps in the room with low wattage, old fashioned light bulbs. This makes getting ready to meet friends for dinner and going out in the evening difficult. I like to read before going to sleep and it is near impossible. However, I would stay here again for the reasons I listed above.

The staff was quite friendly and nice. The location was good. And parking was free. BUT the carpets were old and not clean and I killed about four bugs in our room. That was just hard to stomach. I asked that the room be vacuumed well but came back to find a bead that had been on the floor when we checked in still on the floor so it doesn't seem like they vacuumed. Not a good feeling at all. I didn't like the way the manager handled it either.

The parking lot was very crowded when I arrived at night. there was pretty much nowhere to park. the room was very clean, the bathroom was small, but my stay was quiet and uninterrupted. it felt safe and there is a gas station right across the street. the store attached to the gas station does not have much. it was quick and easy to check in and out. the front desk is staffed 24 hours. I did not have a problem, with my stay. the room was very clean and smoke.odor free.
