Courtyard Washington DC Embassy Row

This hotel has a lovely bar and modest restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. We had a junior suite which had a lovely living room. The hotel is walking distance to monuments and lots of restaurants. The price is also reasonable for DC. The negatives are: (1) you hear police sirens ALL night for the escorts for important people; (2) there is no doorman or porter to assist with luggage; and (3) if you are staying more than one night, you are low priority for maid service and may not get your room made up or fresh towels.

I had the privilege of staying at this hotel during a very important time in my life, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Of course, the food and drinks were amazing, but the staff were twenty times more amazing. From the valet team to housekeeping, everyone greeted us with genuine smiles and kindness. My daily visits to the restaurant quickly became a highlight of my stay—not only because of the outstanding food, but because the staff consistently went above and beyond to make every experience special. A special thank you to the new restaurant manager for the exceptional hospitality and attention to detail. And the front desk? Simply the best customer service I have ever experienced. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable. I will never forget the warmth and care you showed during such an important chapter of my life. I applaud the management team! This was my second stay at the Canopy - Embassy Row, first for business, this time as a couple. When first arriving, there was a major issue with DC area airlines and significant cancellations (we'd actually had to drive up after our flight was cancelled) and we were told there were no rooms even though we had a reservation - could have been a completely terrible situation but the Canopy staff was amazing throughout. The night clerk personally escorted us to another Hilton down the block where we were put up for the first night, then we were moved back over to the Canopy for the remainder of our stay with the first night and parking comped because of the inconvenience. Management and everyone was very apologetic and really did everything they could to make up for the situation. The room itself was great, spacious and comfortable with well maintained fixtures and decor and very clean. There was both a safe and a mini-fridge in the room for convenience. Location is very nice, around several embassies and so the area itself is fairly quiet though still close to metro stops and easy to get around. We also ate at the Alta Strada restaurant downstairs for several meals throughout our five night stay and the food was great across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with attentive waitstaff and bartenders. All in all, will definitely stay again the next time I'm in DC!
