Quality Inn

We are an older couple in our late 60s. We chose this hotel because of the shuttle service thinking we could navigate DC using the metro. Unfortunately that was a huge disappointment. No schedule for it, rarely saw it and it is shared with another hotel. We used it once because we were outside when it pulled up for the first run at 10 am. The last shuttle runs at 6 pm. In the summer the evenings in the city are the best time to visit. Just don’t count on the shuttle. Use taxi to get around, less expensive and very reliable and safe. The parking garage is expensive but very convenient. There is no valet and no one to help with your luggage. We never left the hotel in our car the five days there. Breakfast was above average and different options every morning. Kudos to the breakfast staff. Coffee bar is nice but in the evening coffee was empty, old coffee Or just dark roast. There is a snack center but it is very skimpy. Rooms are small we had two queen beds. Our fan/vent did not work in the bathroom. Fresh towels are given every other day. I called for extra towels and received them quickly. The air conditioner was mediocre and did not seem to be working correctly unless the hotel was conserving electricity. We had an old refrigerator it did not keep our items cold. The hotel staff for the most part are very friendly, except for one. There is only one staff at the desk so if they are on the phone, be prepared to wait. We did not receive any perks for being a Hilton gold member. There are two elevators, one didn’t work for three days. This was over the 4th of July so waiting was an issue. We asked for a high floor due to the traffic noise. No Ma area is great for young folks. Lots of places to eat, drink and gather. The walk to Union Market is a bit sketchy and some areas without sidewalks. There seems to be a lot of construction and perhaps walking will be better in the future. We felt out of place for the most part and ate our dinners in restaurants located in downtown DC. Not sure if I would stay here again but I will be back to visit Washington DC soon.

The staff were professional and kind! The breakfast was descent and the lobby was very nice. The beds are so comfortable. The location was perfect for the rooftop party I was going to next door. The rates were great for a holiday weekend but I did book early. The only problem I had was my room did not get cleaned but I also no hotels are not cleaning everyday now due to staff shortages but I saw a housekeeper in the hallway and she gave me some extra wash clothes I will stay here again if I am in the area!
