Comfort Suites Near Alliance

Room: Our room had a strong, musty and smokey odor. You could smell this through the halls as well. It wasn't noticed until late that there were areas of mold on the shower walls and ceiling. The curtains had heavy staining. Breakfast: I never expect much when it's a Choice hotel but this was worse than average. Some typical items you'd expect were missing for multiple days. I went to get the coffee near the lobby since it's better than the machine coffee and it was cold. They don't bother to change it. Service: the cleaning staff, breakfast and overnight front desk attendant were friendly and the reason I gave 2 stars. Most of the time there wasn't a desk attendant or they were hiding around the corner or in the back office. Not mad about that but a couple times nobody came to the front even after the bell was rung (by myself and other guests). When there was an AM attendant that could be found, they were always very unpleasant.

The hotel was nice and breakfast was good, had a bit of an issue with getting clean towels as they only clean rooms every 3 days so had to go to front desk if you needed something and it was not your day for them to service the room. Very good location and close to lots of restaurants and the Roanoke square. Also had a bit of an issue with a toliet being very slow and management did try to correct this when we checked out.

NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL! My family and I are were guests at this hotel for a weekend and on that following Monday I was charged $500 because we were told by management that we left the water running “on full blast with the drain closed” in the tub upon check-out (WHICH WE DID NOT DO, who in their right mind would do that) essentially flooding the entire hotel…. I found out about this because of the charge on my card, no one from the hotel even tried to call me to modify me of the “damage” my family caused. The manager Karl/Carl was extremely rude and unprofessional. He constantly talked over me and never tired to resolve the issue. He stated no one went in the room after us (not even the cleaning service) only my family. I called Choice Hotels multiple times and continued to get the runaround about the situation. Bottom line, they simply wanted more money and chose my family to be their victims.
