THE BOLLING WILSON HOTEL, AN ASCEND HOTEL COLLECTION MEMBER

Beautiful hotel..great restaurant..wonderful staff and food..atmosphere spectacular..this is a must stay place

Cute room with updated features. The location was great too. However, the mini split was dirty with mildew and the windows were filthy and screwed shut. The breakfast was free, but suffice it to say, I’d rather of paid for a nicer breakfast dining experience than eat what was offered for free. For a ‘boutique’ hotel I expected a bit more for a complimentary breakfast. Everything else was great and we really enjoyed our stay.

I had high hopes for this property. Let me give the positives: location and the bartender’s lovely cocktail skill. Sadly, the rest is not good. Our room smelled so strongly of over scented cleaning solution that I thought it was going to trigger an asthma attack. The headboards had a visible layer of dust on the front surface and there was a heavy layer of dust along the floor in front of the baseboards and window sills. The mini-split was dirty. On Saturday night, they took the elevator out of service at 11pm because they were having the floor stripped. I had to walk up four flights to get to my room. Then, the breakfast on Sunday was under stocked with only 3 yogurts in the fridge, the sterno had gone out, and the water in the carafe for making instant oatmeal was cold. We ended up going across the street. This may be called a historic boutique hotel, but it misses the mark by a long shot. I was very disappointed in this hotel
