This is an old school motel that is well cared for. What might be lacking in the latest amenities, they compensate for with a friendly, attentive staff, cleanliness and lots of flowers and well maintained grounds. We were conveniently located for hiking, Coupeville dining and whale watching from Anacortes. We stayed three nights and were very pleased.

The hotel is in a great location. We explored Whidbey Island and Deception Pass the two nights we based out of here. The rooms were very comfortable and a good size. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the pool. We were also able to do laundry.

I’m giving three stars only because the room was clean — that’s the bare minimum. The front desk today was rude and impatient. We had a reservation, but their system couldn’t find it, and instead of helping us calmly, the staff treated me like I was a problem. I felt completely unwelcome — especially as someone whose first language isn’t English. Also, I’m vegan, and the “breakfast” offered had literally nothing I could eat. Calling it complimentary breakfast is misleading. It’s useless if you can’t accommodate basic dietary needs.
