The price reserved on booking.com is not honored. Had to pay extra.
I always used Expedia.com for my travel in the past 20+ years with good experiences.
This is my first reservation made through booking.com.
With such bad experience, this will also be the last time to use booking.com unless of $24 surcharge is refunded from booking.com
I made a mistake to choose booking.com and this hotel.

Horrible smell of curry throughout the entire building including rooms. Sink didn’t work. Advertised breakfast and wasn’t provided. Rooms not clean. Would never recommend.

We have stayed at this motel almost every year for at least 20 years. Location is the reason we keep coming back, there is nothing else that would draw a person back. This year seemed that the place is sinking even lower. We had to ring a bell to get someone to come to the front desk. When the owner finally came, she was barefoot and looking like we'd just woke her up from a nap. The room smelled bad, as expected. TV--it was one of those old big ones with a remote that didn't work. And, as our yearly joke goes, the ice machine is STILL out of order. There is a fridge in the room, as well as a hairdryer, but I didn't see an ironing board. I didn't go into the pool area, but from a distance it looked a little murky. The sheets on the bed were wrinkled and definitely not "crisp". This is a place you just have to think positive. In the morning we got to see the male owner crawl out, also looking very disheveled, to put the coffee on at just past 8am. That's about it for breakfast. On the positive side, the location has gotten even better. There is a new, very nice and friendly bar on one side, no food, not connected to the hotel. One the other side a new pizza place that is really good and has a full bar. We were also able to walk into downtown Lodi, about a 20 min walk, which was the reason for choosing this place.
