Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Madison

BED BUGS - DO NOT STAY HERE: My daughter and I met for the weekend in Madison, Indiana to visit the town, shop and hike. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express, in Madison, Indiana. On Sunday as we gathered our things to leave, we spotted a bed bug on the bed linens. We took pictures of it and captured the bug to show the front desk. I have called the hotel twice to speak to the hotel manager and have not received a call back. This is completely unacceptable. We have had to replace everything in our possession and take the time to take every precaution so that these do not infiltrate our home and my daughters apartment. I would expect a hotel of this size to apologize and compensate us for our time and belongings. I will be passing this information on to every travel bureau and agency I can find as well as make numerous posts on social media.

Enjoyed our stay- Property was clean, updated and had friendly staff. Breakfast was great with eggs, sausage, pancakes, baked goods, cereal. Staff was highly attentive to ensuring everything was stocked and clean at breakfast. Had a nice workout gym with bench, free weights, treadmill available. We didn’t use the pool but looked nice! Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because at night we heard constant door slamming. Not sure if it was just other people entering/leaving their rooms but it was loud. (We looked in hallway and no one was around so thinking it may have been the rooms on floor below us).

Breakfast bar at 8:45 was a bust. Out of eggs etc. no coffee or black teas. Really bad. Waited 15 minutes and still nothing. Asked and they said more was coming and still nothing. Finally brought out more coffee. Way too strong. Undrinkable. Eggs show up after 30 minutes. Sausage dried out and cold. When it rains it pours.
