Comfort Inn Marinette

2 stars because I do believe this hotel is below 'average'. It's OK. If you just need somewhere to stay one night, you'll survive it. But it smells incredibly damp and musty. The beds are soft. It's right next to the train tracks so the train going through at 3 am blowing its horn will wake you up and vibrate the floor. The loud people in the hallway will also wake you up. The breakfast is minimal. The room is clean and the staff is friendly. This felt like it should be a sub-$100/night hotel, not the $145 I paid.

Property is clean. The location is a bit questionable especially next to the train tracks. We experienced late night trains coming through and being woken up in the wee hours of the night. Staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable. The room smelled musty and moldy. Additionally, we were put into a handicap room without requesting it and had significant challenges. The atmosphere seemed basic and cheap. The value was minimal. If you love the sound of trains…this place is perfect for you!

Admittedly, this wasn't our first choice, or even our second choice - however, word of our initial selection having an outbreak of the crawling biters of the bed, we canceled that reservation. Our backup to it didn't have a 2 bed option open by then, so, here we are. checked in at 10pm on Fri Oct3, with parents in tow. We booked a King Deluxe Studio Suite for us ($111ttl) & were assigned room 105. We booked Standard 2 Double Bed ($96) for the parents & noted difficulty walking long distances. On check-in, they were upgraded to a 2 Double Bed with kitchen, room 101, first room on the right. It's fantastic that they paid attention to that, as my father had a stroke a while back & is determined not to use a walker or wheelchair, only a cane. There were no odd odors, aside from the scent of a fresh dinner delivery that walked in just before us. The rooms were reasonably clean & in fair condition. There are some good-sized chips in the paint. It could use a refreshing. At this price tho, I can handle some dinged up walls! I found staff to be friendly and accommodating. We met the parents for breakfast in the morning. At check out, the morning staff were equally friendly- I'd absolutely stay here again. We are platinum members with Wyndham & booked directly without using points.
