Best Western Crandon Inn & Suites

Ran out of food 2 days in a row an hour after breakfast started. First day, eggs and biscuits and gravy. Second day, egs and sausages. Also, its not like the hotel was jam packed, only a few people were down for breakfast, ridiculous! No one would answer at front desk and contacted management and they did nothing about it. No plates, no butter, no apple juice, no orange juice! Not to mention one of the pools was not filled and the hot tub was out of order. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be back unless they make some serious adjustments!

We booked this due to the amenities (pool, hot tub, bar), knowing there were cheaper options in town. Upon arrival, we could not find anyone to check us in. It appeared people were actually living in the hotel. We learned the pool and hot tub were "closed for maintenance", upon coming to the door on arrival, not made aware in advance. That evening we learned that the bar is not open due to lack of liquor license. They gave us a discount but the cost was still way too high for that town with NO amenities other than a mediocre breakfast. The rooms themselves were decent.

The level of finish for the Crandon Inn & Suites is very nice -- perhaps among the nicest in the small town, but it seemed clear that some of the maintenance decisions have been questionable. The nice level of finish is the reason that this review score isn't a 3. The room was clean, but several things were not working properly: Our room phone kept signaling, wrongly, that we had a message. The coffee maker in the room didn't work. You could tell which towels were purchased longer ago because they were softer, but very badly frayed; newer towels felt like scrubbies scraping your skin. The shower faucet pulled 3/4 inch away from the wall when we tried to shut off the water. They had a sign out front staying they were hiring, and the one staff person we saw seemed to be overworked. It appears that management is saving money wherever they can, but it's hurting their service.
