Howard Johnson Wausau

This Garden Inn hits it out of the park every time! It is completely different than any other HGI and is far more like a full service Hilton. The rooms are beautiful and always clean. The pool and W/P are absolutely perfect temperature. The gym well equipped. The views of Rib Mountain beautiful. The access to the interstate excellent. Love the onsite coin operated guest laundry. I've stayed here many times over the years and there are many staff still working here. This always indicates a well run hotel with good retention. Clearly the GM knows what he/she is doing. The food at Van Acres is FANTASTIC! The Executive Chef is superb! Quality and creativity! (Try the morning avocado toast. Delish!). The bar area is lively and fun. Stay here. You'll be happy you did.

Mary checked me in at 11pm and when I requested to book an additional night for my work trip she said they were booked. Instead of letting it go at that, Mary looked around the area for other accommodations for me. This type of service is rare and greatly appreciated. I will be back to experience more of this top rate service.

Outstanding experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Wausau. This is easily one of the best hotel conference centers in Wisconsin. The facility is modern, clean, well-maintained, and professionally run, making it an excellent venue for meetings, conferences, and events. What really sets this property apart is the staff. Tim, Bree, Linda, Jasmine, Sheann and Sara (apologies if I misspelled any names!) were all absolutely fantastic! ✨ Every interaction was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Their attention to detail and commitment to guest service did not go unnoticed. The entire team helped create a welcoming atmosphere and made our event run smoothly from start to finish. If you’re looking for a beautiful hotel and conference center in the Wausau area, I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Wausau. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
