Golden Beach

Unfortunately, the hotel is without maintenance. There was no heating, in front of our complaints they brought us a fan heat. We booked a room with a double bed and found two one-seater beds, which changed us. Paint smell. They told us the robes were charged for $5, when we went to get it, $10 came out.

Bad experience, would not recommend it Hotel with lack of maintenance, many things need urgent repair. They put a pool and a spa and say it's 4 stars but the rest is 2 stars. I do not understand the favorable reviews about this hotel I read here on Tripadvisor because it is not what we found when staying there. Especially in the rooms: all old and smelling of mold, the sliding doors of the small closet could not be run, the bed small and somewhat worn, some lamps acted as candlelight but were on the wall and very high, blanket with ugly smell, the air conditioning did not heat to more than 25 degrees. The lamps above the breakfast room were very low and you lived banging your head, uncomfortable stools, dirty old armchair, a single key of candlelight by the front door turned on all the lights...? The bathroom should be updated, the hot water would come out after 10 or 15 minutes. The atmospheres are not great as some opinions say, just fair. The balcony railings all rusty and with very old plastic chairs. Of course we occupy a suite, I don't want to think about what the standard rooms will look like. The rooms facing the street are noisy, not resting well. The corridors with dirty and smelly carpets. Of the pools I will not have an opinion because we did not occupy them, they did not give me much confidence. The dining room with chairs with pillows full of stains. The breakfast was good. The garage I think is the best of the hotel although a little reduced to enter. The location of the hotel is also good, very central. The overall staff was very good, and they always responded to any complaints. I do not understand why if we were in Punta del Este, Uruguay, they did not accept Uruguayan pesos at the hotel, we had to pay in dollars and in advance. An expensive stay for what the hotel offers, it has two fewer stars than they claim to have. Apart from all the shortcomings of the hotel we were unlucky, (and that is not the fault of the hotel) we had to share 2 of the 4 days we were with a group of more than 150 girls and teenagers from all over Latin America who were staying for a sporting competition in Punta del Este; they packed the whole hotel, it was impossible to eat breakfast, it was full of girls who swooped on food and occupied all the tables. I would never go to that hotel again, there are many better options in Punta del Este.

Unbeatable location, one block from Avenida Gorlero and two of the Fingers in the Brava. Huge hotel, with indoor and outdoor pool. The rooms are very comfortable. It has two floors of garages that are paid (10usd per day). Right breakfast, good. It has several places nearby, like minisuper on the corner. You get close to everywhere. Ideal for a quiet and relaxing week.
