Bay Sydney Hotel

I booked the hotel 3 months before my trip. 24 hrs before my arrival, I received an email from the hotel saying that because they change the owner, they can't honor my reservation. They offer me another room with a higher price. Because of the last minute, i had to take it. Property is just Ok, room is small and smelly but ok clean. Receptionists are not friendly, all 3 or 4 that i have met during my stay didn't smile. I came down to have breakfast at 7am, almost all the plates, pot are empty, nothing for us to eat. The room is full of Chinese customers to try to have a big breakfast and pack food for their tour. Staff didn't fill in much food afterwards. Hotel is in gơod location, near the beach and a lot of restaurants. I will not return to Bay Sydney Hotel.

We stayed here for almost 2 weeks. Had no major problems at all. Rooms were really spacious. Bathrooms were really clean and well prepared. Staff was friendly. Since we traveled as family, we had 3 rooms and cant always see each other (my parents, my sis + her boyfriend and I) so we often ask the staff at the front desk to keep and pass on our stuff for other family members. Have not lost a single thing. You could reach the beach within 15 mins by foot. We are very happy with this hotel. I would recommend it

They had messed up our booking were trying to give us one single and one double room instead of two doubles, with no change in price for the smaller room, was disappointed that front desk staff didn't get words like invoice, Bill, receipt. Although they were very welcoming. The hotel itself feels a bit cold, as in... A bit concrete. Stayed two days. Clean though. Breakfast was just ok. Unfortunately had some loud guests around our second day/ night of stay. But no harm done, I guess it will be a problem for a light sleeper. Pillows a bit hard, frozen neck and difficulty in sleeping. In all fairness I didn't ask them for a softer one, maybe they do provide them if requested. Person who checked us in seemed a bit annoyed to start with so I didnt feel comfortable asking them for anything else. We hadn't chosen this hotel for its price, was more to do with it being advertised as being so close to the beach ( it's wasn't that close) a good 15 min walk. It was a good price and you get what you pay for. Disappointed that no tea/ coffee in the room. Didn't feel like using the portable electric kettles in the rooms anyway as hadn't been de scaled for a while. Shower cubicle was clean. Stocked well with shampoo, toothbrush, clean towels. Was spacious. Ac works well. Breakfast staff very friendly. Although I had no major problems with my stay, just wasn't comfortable here, won't go there again by choice .
