Gold Hotel II

Room - 1 family room only for this hotel. Cleanliness needs improvement. Electrical appliances needs an upgrade and hope not to see ant trails and mosquitoes plus dirty kitchenette. Food - breakfast is good for Monday to Wednesday. But for Thursday, there'so no buffet spread. Location - not bad, can easily hail a cab. Hotel to city centre abt 20 mins taxi ride. Hotel staff, can speak simple English. Noise proofing, needs lots of improvement. Only 1 elevator to all 8 floors.

I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and am always happy to be in a sub-standard hotel if I have paid accordingly. This is what you get here - basic, but fine. However, we had no sleep for one of the weekends we were there due to a noisy family. This happens in other hotels, but is particularly noticeable in this one due to the echoing, cavernous corridors that amplify everything. Kids running around at all hours, disturbing everyone. Having tried to explain to staff about the problem, nobody understood enough English, had any authority, or was prepared to do anything about it (I'm not sure which). Internet was also up and down all the time. It worked in the corridor some of the time. Cockroaches that chose to die on the floor didn't help. Air Con worked. Building site front and side. Pay bill early as system crashed leaving tense run to airport. Return? No. Better options within 100 metres. Good location.

Good spot, close to beach and near some busy bars, staff are really helpful although some improvement in the English skills would really improve a very well run Hotel. The Manager Rubi also very helpful and polite. This Hotel is also only 20 mins from Hotel.
