First of all, the photos posted do not reflect that of the actual hotel. The place has probably been renovated since, but the service was horrible.
First problem, initially they agreed to let our driver stay at no charge, but they ended up charging for his room when we checked out the next day.
Second, they tried to charge us for water bottles in our rooms that we did not use.
Third and most important point, we had asked for them to help us book our flight to Nha Trang and required us to leave a deposit and all our passport details which was not a problem. But when we came back from our tour to Halong bay, the owner's daughter did not book us our flight and gave an excuse of us not leaving enough deposit. She was the one who we dealt with when we confirmed the booking of the flight. So we had to book another flight which was more expensive as we were to fly out in less than 24 hours, which we had no problem doing since we gave them the benefit of the doubt that there may have been some miscommunication over the phone. The owner also agreed on discounting our rooms because of the problem. But when they helped us check our flight, the total for each of us (there were 9 of us) it was exceptionally higher than what I had seen on the airline website. At this point we knew they were trying to con us, they didn't think that we would know the costs. They also insisted that they will give us a "discount" if we booked right then and there. In conclusion, they tried to scam us. They gave us a discount of 20 000 dong per room, but charged us an extra 200 000 dong per person on the flight. We ended up leaving to stay at a different hotel and booking our flight online.
I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
