La Beaute De Hanoi Hotel

Had an amazing stay in, the location was brilliant, right in the middle of the old quarter, room was clean, and spacious with a large bed. All the staff were welcoming ans very friendly, Eirian was extremely helpful and helped arrange a trip to Ninh Binh which was an amazing day! Would definately go back.

First off, apologies the the lovely staff at La Beaute for being so late in crafting this review. My wife and I were there in mid-April of this year, and had a lovely stay. While the rooms and breakfast were fine, what really made our stay special was the courtesy, professionalism and positive energy of the staff. While too many to mention, special shout out to Daniel who took us on a street food tour that was one of the best tours my wife and I have ever taken of anything. When one restaurant on the itinerary was unexpectedly closed, he had the signature dish delivered to our room the next morning! Also, my wife wanted to change rooms after our first night to a higher floor, and the front desk staff handled the change gracefully and immediately. The hotel is centrally located in the Old Quarter, and is an easy walk to any number of things you'd want to see, from the Water Puppet Theater to the lake. I'd opt for a room on a higher floor, but frankly, both our rooms were very good. Apologies to the staff whose names I did not write down, but if you are the owner and reading this, give them all a raise!!

Decent hotel at great location and good breakfast spread. Breakfast spread was one of the best during our whole stay in Vietnam. However, there were issues like soiled curtains, bench very very dirty with lot of marks on it(something you cannot oversee), bunch of hair in your bed. Room furniture definitely needs renovation, don't go by the pictures posted online it is an old property that needs renovation. Its a decent hotel for 2-3k INR, I paid 4K+ INR for 1 night which I feel is a bit on higher side for a property in this state. The guy at the reception was not v welcoming (or racist, not sure). We reached at 2am, since the hotel is not on main road it was difficult to locate it even through google maps. The grab driver called him, after 5mins he came out with 2 other guests who were checking out. He asked our grab driver to take them to their destination and then just went away. Without greeting us or asking us to follow him or helping us with our luggage even when we were with a small kid. I asked my grab driver is he the person from our hotel, then our driver told us to follow him. He just kept walking without even turning back once to see if we are even following him or not. At the time of checkin he asked us for our morning plans and I told him that we have early morning pickup for Halong Bay tour, so for that he got our breakfast packed I liked that part and thought may be last night he might not be in a good mood. Then next day my husband got hurt on his foot v badly. We asked him if hotel has some basic first aid like antiseptic to clean the wound etc. to our surprise nothing was available at the reception. In such situation I would expect hotel to arrange something but he bluntly said at 11pm that all nearby medical shops are closed. When we checked there were many 24 hours open pharmacy's around. We arranged for the first aid ourselves. All I'm trying to tell is such basic services are missing at this hotel. Moreover, when we came back with medical supplies he didn't bother to even check if we could find something or not and also next day morning he didn't even feel like asking about the injury at breakfast or during checkout. Very cold vibes from the guy. He is definitely in a wrong profession. However girl staff at the reception are quite good and they do take interest in knowing how guests' stay is going and all. Also, special mention for the staff at the restaurant is also very nice and polite. Only night shift reception guy's behaviour we found v rude and inconsiderate with guests which definitely needs to be checked!!!
