I've been travelling across Vietnam with a group. The Hoan Kiem Hotel on 14 Luong Van Can was our final destination. Rooms were ok and they provide a fantastic breakfast unfortunately the staff of this hotel isn't really nice. I specifically refer to they two guys who worked as receptionists both the evenings before my departure. I informed one of them that I needed a transfer for the airport (they offer a service for 17 US dollars but for some reasons they tried to charge me 20 and I knew one of our group used the service for 17$). This isn't the main issue. My flight was pretty late and I had nothing to do, also I was very tired so I asked them to stay in the hotel till 7pm, in the lobby. I should be considered a guest for two reasons: I stayed in the hotel and my room mate still had the room for two nights. Be aware I wasn't into the room but in the lobby. They kept asking when I was leaving during the afternoon. They didn't miss a chance to make me notice I wasn't welcome. When I checked their free access internet on their computer for 3 minutes they moved my bag and I still have the feeling they opened it to check the content since I found one make up product out and on the floor close to my bag). When my roon mate went to ask something at the reception they asked her when I was leaving...and added "So she's leaving...".
I find this manners very damaging for a hotel. And if I was keen to recommend the hotel before my departure now I'm pretty sure I wouldn't. They ruined my last afternoon and added stress to my leaving...for NO reasons. I sat silent in their lobby and I was pretty much invisible. I also used their service for the transport so I was still a paying client. I hope the manager will read this review, they need to be nice and understanding if they want to work in this field.
